This position, reporting to the Vice President of EHSS & Regulatory Affairs, requires a BS degree in science or engineering and a minimum of 8-10 years EHSS experience in a manufacturing environment in the chemical/refining/pharmaceutical industry. Candidate must have working knowledge of federal and state (Texas) regulations in BOTH environmental and occupational safety/health. Experience in managing a plant security program is a plus. Prior recent personnel management experience is mandatory. The candidate must have PC proficiency and excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities will include managing and directing EHSS staff and programs including environmental permitting and compliance, groundwater monitoring, OSHA compliance auditing, incident and hazard investigation, emergency response, PSM, hazard communication, industrial hygiene, security, Responsible Care, regulatory assessments, EHSS training, maintaining an integrated document management system and updating and approving EHSS policies/procedures.
